INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 6, 2015) — One person died and three others were hurt in a Sunday evening crash on the city’s southeast side.
Around 6:15 p.m., police and rescue crews were called to a two-vehicle crash in the Wildwood Farms neighborhood in the 8000 block of States Bend Drive. That scene is near East Troy and South Franklin Road.
Investigators say the crash involved a gray Toyota driven by a 63-year-old female and a white Buick four-door with three occupants.
The 80-year-old driver of the Buick was trapped in the wreckage. Rescuers freed him from the vehicle, but he was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
A 17-year-old female passenger was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health in serious condition. A 2-year-old boy was also taken to Riley Hospital, but was unhurt.
The driver of the Toyota went to IU Health Methodist Hospital in serious condition.
Police fatal crash investigators are still looking into what caused the crash.
