Police investigate fatal single-vehicle crash in Hamilton County

SHERIDAN, Ind. (Dec. 3, 2015)– Thursday morning, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash.

Police found an inverted car in a field in the 22800 block of Mule Barn Road.

Witnesses told investigators the car crossed the center line, went through several yards and hit a tree before flipping over and landing on its side.

The victim was identified as James E. Gallimore, 59, of Sheridan.

Gallimore was pinned inside the car when first responders arrived. He succumbed to his injuries before he could be removed from the car. An initial crash report says he was not wearing a seat belt.

Toxicology results are pending. A cause of death has not been determined at this time.
