Richmond apartment where twins were found deceased

RICHMOND, Ind. (Dec. 1, 2015) – Police in Richmond are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two infants.

The twin 3-month-old boys were found dead inside an apartment. Right now, the case has police puzzled and the people who live in the apartment building concerned because no one is sure how or why the infants died.

It’s not clear at this point if a crime has been committed.

It all happened at the Nine North apartments when someone called 911 to report an unresponsive child on Monday just before noon. When police arrived they found the two children.

They were rushed to the hospital but didn’t survive.

Several neighbors were stunned by the news.

“I’m just saddened and surprised. It’s sad that both would go at the same time,” said neighbor Donna Johnson.

“It bothers me that two little babies are gone, but all you can you can do is pray for the family,” said neighbor Vickie Hart.

Richmond police would only say there were no obvious signs of trauma on the bodies. Neighbors had few clues into what may have caused the deaths.

Most of the neighbors said they had never seen the young boys in the building before.

“I’ve lived here since they opened and I don’t recall woman seeing a woman with two infants, so I don’t know who it was,” said Johnson.

The bodies were both taken to the Montgomery County coroners office in Dayton, Ohio for autopsies.

Police and everyone who lives in the apartment building hopes the coroner can shed some light on the mysterious deaths.

“I just hope they find out and get it taken care of and I pray for those babies who were innocent,” said Hart.

Police did not want to talk about the case on camera. They would only say the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
