(December 1, 2015) – Beautiful yet heartbreaking photos of a boy whose father was killed in the line of duty are going viral.

Louisiana State Trooper Steven Vincent was fatally shot in August during a traffic stop. Trooper Vincent was a 13-year veteran of the force and Army vet. He was married and had a 9-year-old son named Ethan.

A few months after Trooper Vincent’s death, his wife Katherine commissioned Lafayette photographer April Reeves to take pictures of Ethan and incorporate images of her late husband into some of the photographs.

Reeves shared the photos on her website on November 29, and the images have been shared nearly 8,500 times.

“The photographs serve as a reminder of the shared bond between father and son as well as a lasting tribute to a man who is missed by his family and friends,” said the Louisiana State Police.
