Defense leads Bishop Dwenger to 4A title over East Central

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Amaun Clark ran for 138 yards and three touchdowns to lead Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger to a 27-3 victory over East Central in the Class 4A finals at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday.

Saints quarterback Blake Podschlne completed 10 of 15 passes for 115 yards and collected one rushing touchdown.

Trojans quarterback Lucas Patton came into the game averaging 129 yards rushing per game, but the Saints defense held him to just 48 yards on 23 carries and forced three turnovers.

The win marks the Saints’ fourth football state title, but the first in Class 4A.
