Suspect in police pursuit crashes into another car, killing passenger; police say suspect under the influence

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 24, 2015) – A police pursuit ended in a fatal accident on the city’s west side Tuesday night.

IMPD began pursuit of a suspect around 10:45 p.m. after an officer noticed the plates on the suspect’s Chevy Malibu didn’t match up with the vehicle. The officer attempted to pull the car over, but the suspect fled.

The suspect was identified as 22-year old Kyle Doolin.

Once the vehicle reached Holt Road, over I-70, the car crashed into a Ford Mustang.

The male passenger, 23-year-old Rudy Hernandez, was killed in the crash. The cause of death was ruled to be multiple blunt force traumatic injuries.

The female driver of the car was transported to Eskenazi Hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to live. Doolin was also transported to Eskenazi Hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect admitted to police that he was under the influence of heroin and meth.
