I Heart Caregivers: Learn How AARP is fighting for family caregivers like you!

AARP Indiana has nearly 840,000 members statewide and is committed to improving the lives of all Hoosiers as we age.  One critical component of that work is better supporting the 837,000 unpaid family caregivers in Indiana.  These folks perform a labor of love day in and day out, taking care of their older parent or loved one, allowing them to remain at home as they age – where they want to be.  There are some commonsense steps we can take to make their job a little easier.  One of those is the Caregiver Advise, Record, Enable Act, or CARE Act, which will take effect in Indiana on January 1, 2016.  We also try to connect Hoosier family caregivers with important resources and information, like that found in our Caregivers Resource Guide.  And, by sharing your personal story on AARP’s I Heart Caregiver site, we are able to recognize the work you do in taking care of a loved one.  For that work, we say “thank you.”
