Traffic stop leads to seizure of 5 pounds of marijuana

MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (Nov. 20, 2015) – A Colorado man was arrested in Morgan County Friday afternoon following a routine traffic stop.

Alan Wamsganz, age 63, of Avondale, Colorado, was pulled over by an Indiana State Trooper for an unsafe lane movement in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the 52 mile marker. During the traffic stop, the trooper noticed possible indicators of criminal activity.

During a search of the vehicle, the officer found five pounds of marijuana in the cargo area of the truck.

Wamsganz was arrested and transported to the Morgan County Jail. He faces preliminary charges of dealing marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities believe the marijuana was en route to the east coast.
