Man arrested following chase, officer-involved shooting incident on Indianapolis west side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 8, 2015) – A man was arrested following an officer-involved shooting incident on the west side of Indianapolis.

The incident began as a car chase in Speedway around 2 a.m. Sunday.

According to Speedway Police, the suspect stopped the car near High School Road and West Washington Street, got out, and started running while showing a weapon.

The responding officer fired a single shot. No one was injured.

The suspect, later identified as James Sublett, 30, of Indianapolis, was taken into custody.

He faces preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement and possession of a firearm.

Speedway police are handling the incident.
