Recently opened Boone County roundabout set to close to correct imperfections
BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (November 2, 2015) — The recently opened roundabout at US 421 and State Road 32 in Boone County is now closed for the next three weeks to correct imperfections of the inside curbing.
Drivers had to endure a lengthy closure over the summer for the roundabout to be built before it finally opened in mid- September after having been closed since July 6. INDOT said the delays of the roundabout opening were due to “unforeseen” construction problems
Now curb imperfections around the inside of the island roundabout has caused officials to close it for the next 21 days to correct those issues.
During the closure, drivers are reminded to use these alternate routes:
The official detour for U.S. 421 is using Interstate 865, I-65 and Indiana 47. The official detour for Ind. 32 suggests drivers use U.S. 31, Ind. 38, Ind. 47 and I-65.
Seven county roads have been listed as unofficial local detours, including CR 200 N and CR 1000 E; Taylor Road; CR 900 E and CR 200 S, and CR 800 E and CR 100 N
