INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 20, 2015) – Decatur Township crews are battling a large cornfield and building fire on the southwest side of Indianapolis.

The fire is in the 5400 block Seerley Road, and Wayne Township is assisting their crews.

The fire caused heavy black smoke that could be seen billowing across the southern part of the city. It started in an old storage barn that had paint and tires inside. The fire spread to neighboring woods and a field because of dry conditions.

The brush fire has been knocked down, and they are currently working to put out the structure fire.

It is unknown at this point in time if anyone was injured or if anyone was inside the building. We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
