INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 17, 2015) — The Boy Scouts are known for earning badges, but now one central Indiana group is trying to earn a world record.

The Boy Scouts spent the day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway working on what they hope will be the world’s longest popcorn strand.

More than 100 scouts and their families worked to reach their one-mile-long goal.

By the end, we’re told the strand reached 450 feet, but that still might be good enough for a title. The results are going to Guinness World Records.
