BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (Oct. 16, 2015) – The overwhelming odor of alcohol led to the arrest of a driver caught speeding early Friday morning in Bartholomew County.

According to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Kris Weisner saw and heard a car speed past on I-65 northbound near mile marker 68.5 around 1:25 a.m. Friday. The sergeant initiated a traffic stop, and the vehicle pulled over in a rest park.

Weisner was “overwhelmed with the odor of alcohol” coming from inside the vehicle when he talked to the driver and three passengers. He identified the driver as Bradley R. Dicken, 31, Lebanon, Tenn.

Dicken was booked at the Bartholomew County Jail on a count of operating a vehicle under the influence and cited for speeding.
