INDIANAPOLIS (October 2, 2015) – Emergency crews are on the scene of a fatal crash at North Arlington Ave. and Staughton Dr.

Police say they received a call about a domestic disturbance from a girl’s mother. She said her daughter’s boyfriend was intoxicated and threatening her daughter.

When officers arrived on the scene, they say a red Saturn pulled away and the officer followed. The car turned northbound on Arlington Ave. going too fast.

Police say the officer turned on the lights and siren and saw the Saturn lose control and hit a pole. The officer tried to help the victims, but the car was fully engulfed in flames.

Officers believe one passenger is the boyfriend from the domestic call, but are unsure who the passenger is. They say it is not the girlfriend from the initial call.

Arlington Ave. was closed in both directions before reopening several hours later.
