PERU, Ind. (Sept. 25, 2015)– Two men were arrested Thursday after a robbery at a Bunker Hill assisted living facility.

Wallace Taylor, 24, of Peru, and Caleb Sullivan, 23, of Lafayette, face charges of burglary while armed with a deadly weapon, robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, residential entry, theft, dealing in a scheduled I, II, or III narcotic, possession of a controlled substance, possession of hypodermic needles and possession of marijuana.

Just before 3 a.m. Thursday, officers were called to the Caring Hands Assisted Living Facility on Matador Street in Bunker Hill. Police say a man wearing a ski mask entered the building with a handgun. He demanded a nurse open a locked cabinet where narcotics are stored. The nurse complied and the man allegedly stole more than 600 schedule II narcotic pills and left the building.

No injuries were reported.

Police later went to a home in Peru where Taylor reportedly lived and also where the getaway vehicle was believed to be. During a search of the home and van, officers seized marijuana, syringes and a BB-style handgun which is believed to be the weapon used in the robbery. Police also found some evidence related to the crime which had been burned.

Police say Sullivan was a former nurse at the facility. He was allegedly fired in July. Investigators believe he was the masked robber, while Taylor is alleged to have driven the getaway van.

Officers recovered a small amount of the stolen drugs. It is believed a majority of the pills were sold prior to the suspects’ arrests.
