EDINBURGH, Ind. (Sept. 24, 2015)– Authorities are searching for a female soldier who was last seen at Camp Atterbury Thursday morning.

The soldier was participating in a training exercise and was reported missing when she did not return. The soldier was in possession of an M16 with no ammunition. She was said to be wearing an orange vest and military fatigues.

The training is the last part of a six-week course which is designated as an officer course. If anyone leaves any of the courses, there is a hard road surrounding the base which is patrolled around the clock by military personnel.

There are approximately 150 people searching for her, including those on base and assisting law enforcement agencies. The search began shortly after 12 p.m.

Anyone with information can contact the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department at (812) 379-1650.
