Fire forces Greenwood family out of their home

GREENWOOD, Ind. (September 20, 2015)– A Greenwood family managed to safely escape their burning home in a Greenwood neighborhood Sunday night.

The Greenwood Fire Department said they got multiple calls shortly before 9:30 p.m. from neighbors reporting a house on fire in the 800 block of Pine Lake Drive.

The first fire crews on the scene reported flames shooting from the roof and fire on the first floor of the two story home.

Additional fire units were called to the scene.  The occupants made it out of the home safely along with the family pets.  No injuries were reported.

The blaze was brought under control within 45 minutes and fire investigators are looking into the cause of the blaze.

That scene is in a subdivision near West Worthsville Road and County Road North 125 West.
