INDIANAPOLIS (September 13, 2015) – Five people are in the hospital following a police chase that ended in a crash on the city’s west side.

Officials say the chase started as a traffic violation. When officers tried to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle fled and collided head-on with another vehicle.

During the chase, an officer discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen approximately one month ago. Police also say the driver, Jarius Moore, 25, and front seat passenger Reggie Johnson, 32, were wanted on outstanding warrants and were arrested after the crash.

A two-year-old girl in the backseat of that vehicle suffered a broken leg. Also in the backseat was 25-year-old Ronika Perkins.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash had to be removed from his vehicle by emergency crews. Police say he was the only person in the vehicle, and was transported to the hospital in a neck brace.

Three people were taken to Eskenazi Hospital and two others went to Methodist Hospital, all with non-life threatening injuries.
