Excessive speed and the smell of marijuana lands Perrysville man in jail

VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (September 12, 2015)–State Police stopped a 1991 GMC pickup going 78 miles-per-hour in a 60 mph zone on State Road 63 near County Road 1050 South.

The State Trooper said while talking with the driver, he could smell both burnt and raw marijuana.

Clinton Police Department K-9  confirmed the trooper’s suspicions and a vehicle search turned up 13 grams of marijuana in a duffle bag next to the driver.  Officers say a suspected partially smoked marijuana cigarette was found in the ash tray as well as assorted drug paraphernalia.

18-year-old Wyatt T. Hodgkin of Perrysville, Indiana was arrested on DUI and possession charges and taken to the Vermillion County.
