Attempted robbery suspect.

CARMEL, Ind. (Aug. 21, 2015)– Carmel police are looking for a man wanted in connection with an attempted Orange Leaf robbery.

On Thursday, the male suspect entered the store at 365 West 116th Street and went to the bathroom. After about 20 minutes, police say he came out and walked out with his hood up and his hand over his mouth. He sat on a couch and appeared nervous.

He then approached the counter and asked an employee to make change for $20. When the employee opened the register, the suspect allegedly told her he’d shoot her if she didn’t give him the money inside. The employee saw a portion of a gun in the man’s hand, partially inside his sweatshirt.

At this time, the employee’s father happened to entered the business. The employee told her father about the situation and the suspect ran toward the rear of the store.

Police describe the suspect as 6′, 160 lbs. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and jeans. Police estimate he’s in his mid-20s and has a thin beard.

Anyone has information should contact the Carmel Police Department Investigations Division at 571-2511 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana 317-262-8477 (TIPS).
