The theft at Gunslingers happened on Thursday, Aug. 13

ANDERSON, Ind. (Aug. 20, 2015) – Police arrested a teenager accused of helping pull off a burglary at an Anderson gun store last week that resulted in the theft of 50 firearms.

On Wednesday morning, police said a 15-year-old accused in the case turned himself in accompanied by an attorney and several family members.

Police said the teen implicated himself in the Aug. 13 burglary at Gunslingers Gun Shop. He was taken to the Madison County Juvenile Detention Center on preliminary charges of burglary and carrying a handgun without a permit.

Police said a break in the case came Sunday when someone saw a juvenile dump a firearm into the White River. The investigation led police to 1310 Cincinnati Ave., where they took 18-year-old Jayvier Armstrong and a 17-year-old into custody.

Police found bolt cutters at the residence as well as two of the stolen handguns. The 15-year-old suspect who turned himself in Wednesday had left the home as police approached. The other two also face charges of burglary and carrying a handgun with a permit.

Police were still looking for the man they believe orchestrated the theft, 29-year-old Deandre Fairman. Investigators believe he promised each teen $1,000 and their choice of two guns each for helping carry out the burglary.

Anderson police are working with the ATF to find Fairman and recover the remaining guns.
