One person dead, one wounded after shooting on northwest side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 13, 2015) – One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting on the northwest side of Indianapolis late Thursday.

Officers responded to the call around 11:13 p.m. in the 6100 block of Sorbus Drive, just east of Lafayette Road and I-65. When police arrived on the scene, they found a vehicle that had crashed into several other vehicles.  Inside, they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest and another man with a graze wound to the shoulder.

Emergency medics arrived to the scene, and a short time later, pronounced the first man deceased. The second man with the graze wound is listed in stable condition.

Police have not made any arrests related to the shooting, and are hoping that the surviving victim can help in the ongoing investigation.
