Mooresville teen dies after crashing ATV into guardrail

MOORESVILLE, Ind. (Aug. 13, 2015) – A Mooresville teenager died after an ATV accident Thursday night.

Authorities were dispatched to Oldfield Lane near State Road 42 around 7 p.m. in response to an ATV crash.

Investigators from the Department of Natural Resources said Dalton Stuck, 16, and his brother, Parker Jones, 13, were riding a Polaris Sportsman ATV driven by Stuck, who lost control of the vehicle and hit a bridge guardrail.

Stuck was airlifted to St. Vincent in Indianapolis with severe chest trauma. He later died from his injuries.

His brother suffered a laceration to his left leg and was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.

Investigators said neither boy was wearing protective equipment or helmets.
