Death of woman found at Fort Harrison State Park ruled a homicide

LAWRENCE, Ind. (Aug. 13, 2015) – Police are investigating a homicide after a woman’s body was found at Fort Harrison State Park Wednesday afternoon.

The victim was identified as Tina M. Moore, 55, Indianapolis. Indiana conservation officers verified her identity with family members Thursday. A missing persons reported for Moore was filed Wednesday afternoon with the Lawrence Police Department.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office determined Moore was asphyxiated and ruled her death a homicide. Investigators said it appeared Moore was killed in one location and then moved to the park. She was found around noon Wednesday.

Investigators don’t have any information about a suspect in the case. This is a developing story.
