LAWRENCE, Ind. (Aug. 12, 2015) – A death investigation is underway at Fort Harrison State Park.

According to the Department of Natural Resources, a person walking a dog came across the body of an adult white female on the outskirts of the park just before noon Wednesday.

Investigators said it was too early to tell how long the body had been there.

DNR, the Lawrence Police Department, the Marion County Prosecutor, and CrimeLab are investigating the scene.

DNR wants people to know that if you have a loved one missing, let police know.

And if you saw a vehicle stopped near the Fort Harrison Park entrance on Boy Scout Road, please contact police.
