Winchester Community High School takes Band Day title

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (August 9, 2015) – The Force of Winchester Community High School took the top spot in the 2015 Music for All Indiana State Fair Band Day competition. Their director, Douglas Fletcher, helped them grab their fourth victory in five years.

Winchester has been a consistent winner since 2011, with the exception of last year; they placed second.

Their show, titled “With Trumpets and Cymbals,” helped them reclaim their throne.

“As soon as we walked on the field tonight, I just felt this amazing energy,” said Gavin Craig, a senior in the Force of Winchester, “Walking off the field, I knew that we did our best—our absolute best.”

Northeastern High School took second place and also walked away with an award for visuals. Kokomo High School, who got their first top 5 finish, rounded out the top 3.
