NEW YORK (August 9, 2015) — Family says Hall of Famer Frank Gifford has died suddenly of natural causes at 84.
Gifford began his NFL career with the New York Giants in 1952. While with the Giants, he made eight Pro Bowl appearances and had five trips to the NFL Championship Game. He stayed with the Giants for 12 seasons.
Gifford was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on July 30, 1977.
He became a sports commentator after his NFL career ended.
Gifford married television host Kathie Lee in 1986, and they have two children together: Cody, 25, and Cassidy, 22.
