Three Dollar General customers hospitalized after car runs into store on Indianapolis far east side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (August 9, 2015) – Three Dollar General customers were injured after a car ran into the store on the far east side of Indianapolis.

Police were initially dispatched to the area around 12:35 p.m. on a report of a pedestrian struck.

When they arrived, they discovered a car ran into the Dollar General at 12046 East Washington Street, and the car struck a customer inside the store.

Upon further investigation, police discovered that an elderly woman was trying to park her car when she hopped the curb and ran into the store. Three quarters of the car made it into the store.

She hit a male exiting the store. He was taken to Community East Hospital with unspecified injuries.

Two other people were also taken to Community East as a precaution.

The store suffered structural damage, and it is closed until further notice.
