Indianapolis police locate patient mistakenly released from Methodist Hospital

UPDATE: Police located missing man Wayne Hurd, and he was readmitted to Methodist Hospital.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Aug. 8. 2015)–The Missing Persons Unit of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s help to locate a hospital patient who was mistakenly released.

37-year-old Wayne D. Hurd was last seen Saturday August 8, 2015 at 10 a.m.  Hurd was mistakenly released from IU Health Methodist Hospital.

According to police, Hurd was injured in a hit and run accident and has multiple medical conditions that could be life-threatening if he were to fall.

Police say he was last seen wearing a white and blue striped shirt, dark green shorts and yellow hospital slippers.

Hurd is believed to be in the area of 17th Street and College Avenue.

If located, police ask the public to call 911 immediately.
