PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. (August 5, 2015) -- Two best friends, a sister and an 89-year-old grandma -- not your typical bridal party, right?

When Pennsylvania bride Christine Quinn tied the knot in May she asked one of her best friends, "Nana Betty," to be part of her big day.

Quinn told BuzzFeed Life that choosing Nana Betty as a bridesmaid was an easy decision.

“Who doesn’t want her best friend standing beside her on her wedding day? Not to mention all of my friends love my nana as well, so we all had a great time planning and spending time together,” she told BuzzFeed Life.

Nana Betty wasn't immediately convinced her granddaughter actually wanted her in the wedding.

“She asked me about 10 times, ‘Are you sure?’ and ‘Why would you want an old lady in your bridal party?’” Quinn told the Huffington Post.

From the wedding photos taken by Sweetwater Photography, it is clear that Nana Betty fit right in with the bridal party.

"Spending the entire day with Nana by my side as I married the love of my life was all I could ask of her," Quinn told BuzzFeed Life.
