UPDATE (March 31, 2016 ): Brandon Kidwell was found not guilty on all counts.
UPDATE (August 5, 2015): Brandon Kidwell has been charged with criminal confinement (level 6 felony), domestic battery (level 6 felony), battery resulting in bodily injury (Class A misdemeanor), and interference with reporting of a crime (Class A misdemeanor).
INDIANAPOLIS (July 30, 2015) – Indiana State Police arrested a deputy with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday night.
According to state police, Brandon Kidwell was taken into custody around 5:30 p.m. while state police were investigating an unrelated hit-and-run case in the 4300 block of Blue Ribbon Road in Indianapolis.
During the course of that investigation, a woman approached a state trooper saying a man was holding her against her will.
After investigating, the trooper arrested Kidwell on preliminary charges of criminal confinement and interfering with reporting a crime.
State police said Kidwell was cooperative with the investigation.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department placed Kidwell, an 8-year veteran, on administrative leave.
