Authorities investigate body found in White River in Lawrence County

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 27, 2015)—Police are seeking information about a hit-and-run crash Sunday night that injured a 54-year-old woman.

Police said Htoo Say Paw and another woman were walking on the shoulder of I-74 westbound, when she was struck and severely injured by a passing car around 10:15 p.m.  A witness described the car as a dark-colored passenger car. Police believe the vehicle sustained damage to the front passenger side as a result of the crash.

Authorities say heavy rain in the area was likely a factor in the cause of the accident.

Paw was taken to an area hospital with broken bones, a laceration to her upper thigh and a bruised lung. She is expected to recover.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Indiana State Police at 317-899-8577 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
