Police investigate hit-and-run crash on I-74 that severely injured 54-year-old woman
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 27, 2015)—Police are seeking information about a hit-and-run crash Sunday night that injured a 54-year-old woman.
Police said Htoo Say Paw and another woman were walking on the shoulder of I-74 westbound, when she was struck and severely injured by a passing car around 10:15 p.m. A witness described the car as a dark-colored passenger car. Police believe the vehicle sustained damage to the front passenger side as a result of the crash.
Authorities say heavy rain in the area was likely a factor in the cause of the accident.
Paw was taken to an area hospital with broken bones, a laceration to her upper thigh and a bruised lung. She is expected to recover.
