Goodbye summer break, Some students hit the books Monday
Indianapolis, Ind. (July 27, 2015) – Summer break is officially over for students in Warren Township. Students hit the books Monday.
Several more schools start this week.
“It seems like before I had kids, summers were long and now that I have one they go by really fast,” said Tanya Downing. “It’s just a few weeks and then before you know it you’re preparing for back to school events and supplies and things like that.”
“Summer was really fast,” she said, “We tried to fill in a lot of good events. We had a lot of birthday parties to go to and we went to Kings Island, we also did Holiday World, so we went to a few theme parks to break it up. It was a really nice summer actually.”
“I’m looking forward to him meeting his new teacher, learning new subjects, specifically math, English, spelling and learning sight words and definitely making those new friends.”
Constance Barnwell is a student and says she had a good summer but she’s looking forward to meeting new friends, too.
“I went swimming with my friends and I went to camp and I went to the mall and I went shopping.”
There have been community events throughout the summer to help kids get ready.
