Hartsville deputy town marshal arrested, faces preliminary charge of child solicitation

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (July 17, 2015) – The Hartsville deputy town marshal was arrested and is facing preliminary charges of child solicitation and disseminating matter harmful to a child.

Indiana State Police began investigating Lyn Nunemaker, 50, of Columbus, on July 15 after receiving a complaint that a female child was being contacted by Nunemaker through text messages.

Investigator Howell, with the assistance of ISP Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit, gathered enough evidence to obtain a search warrant which was executed around 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at Nunemaker’s residence.

Nunemaker was arrested in Columbus and transported to the Bartholomew County jail.

This investigation is on-going as search warrants are currently being executed.

The Indiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division assisted with this investigation.
