Coroner to analyze bones found on Indianapolis’ near east side

Shooting occurred in the 3400 block of Woodfront Drive

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 9, 2015) – Indianapolis police are investigating bones found on the city’s near east side Thursday morning.

According to police, a DPW maintenance crew member found the bones at the intersection of Newton Avenue and South Rural Street around 11 a.m.

The coroner was contacted, and she responded to the scene where she took possession of the bones for testing.

An evidence technician also responded to the scene for photos.
