Police seek man accused in Fishers check fraud scheme

FISHERS (July 2, 2015) – Police in Fishers are trying to identify a man caught on camera passing fraudulent checks at Fishers-area Kroger stores.

Between June 12 and June 22, the man used checks totaling more than $900 at Kroger locations. The checks, which appeared to be from Fifth Third Bank, contained fake routing and account numbers. They were in the name of Andrew Smith, Clarice Smith, Anthony Smith and Janet Smith. Two addresses appeared on the checks: 617 E Michigan Street and 224 E Michigan Street.

Investigators said the man is also running the same scheme in Johnson and Marion counties.
