BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (June 28, 2015) — Three kayakers who became stranded on a log jam had to be rescued from Flat Rock River.

Around 4:45 Sunday afternoon the Bartholomew County Water Rescue Team was sent to an area approximately one-half mile north of County Road 400 North on the Flat Rock River.

About 30 minutes later the water rescue team members located three Columbus residents, a father and two sons, all stranded on a log jam surrounded by swift moving water due to recent rainfall.

The father, Larry Adams, said his kayak became stuck on a log and capsized. When his sons, Craig and Grant, tried to assist him, they also became stranded.

All three were successfully rescued and returned to Owens Bend Park.
