INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Where are drivers ticketed the most on Interstate 65? CBS4 uncovered the biggest speed traps after going through more than 200,000 citations issued last year by Indiana State Police.

Below the South Split, there were two and a half times more tickets issued than above the North Split.

CBS4 asked ISP trooper Corey Berfield if the areas ticketed the most have the best hiding places for troopers.

"It doesn't really matter where we sit, you will always have people who will go above the posted limit,” said Berfield.

The area where the most tickets were issued: I-65 near I-465 on the south side.

Drivers CBS4 spoke to say the area has the best hiding spot for police.

“The bridge,” said driver Jed Cox. “They can hide there behind the pillar.”

In 2014, 50 percent of the citations on I-65 through Indianapolis were issued between Edgewood Avenue and Southern Avenue.
