PORTLAND, Ind. (June 22, 2015) – A Jay County man who pleaded guilty to fatally stabbing his wife was sentenced to 60 years in prison.

Richard Straley was arrested in March and later charged in the death of his wife, which happened at their Portland, Ind., home. Connie Straley, 58, was found suffering from multiple stab wounds and died from her injuries at a hospital.

Investigators said the stabbing happened during an argument between the husband and wife. Straley entered a guilty plea on a murder charge in late May.
