Free men’s health screenings Wednesday at St.Vincent Hospital
FISHERS (June 17,2015)- A health fair targeted towards men is happening at St. Vincent Hospital in Fishers from 7-11 a.m. Wednesday.
This is the first time the hospital has hosted this type of event.
It planned the Men’s Health Tune-up in an effort to get more men see a doctor for preventative tests and screenings.
The health fair will offer free diabetes and cholesterol screenings, tips for people looking to quit smoking, body composition analysis, men can have their major arteries checked for any blockage, and they can also schedule a prostate screening and a heart scan.
“If you don’t even go for the screenings, come out and hear the education from these fine physicians and our own physicians that will be there because sometimes it starts with just being informed,” said Gary Fammartino, the administrator of St. Vincent Fishers.
Two doctors driving across the country to promote men’s health will also be at the event.
Adults over the age of 25 will be able to test drive a Tesla after their screenings.
Pacers players Shayne Whittington and C.J. Miles will be at the health fair taking pictures with fans and signing autographs.
The hospital says the event is targeted towards men, but open to everyone.
