INDIANAPOLIS (June 14, 2015) – One man is dead and two others injured after shootings late Sunday night.
Police confirm two people were shot in the 1700 block of Centurion Parkway on the city’s north side near St. Vincent Hospital just before midnight.
Police say a group was arguing in the parking lot of an apartment complex when shots were fired. A 35-year-old man was in the left leg and groin. He was taken to St. Vincent Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A second male victim was also shot but he is expected to recover.
A 13-year-old girl inside a first floor apartment was grazed during the incident. Police say it is unclear if she came into contact with a stray bullet or debris. The girl refused medical treatment at the scene and was not taken to the hospital.
The details surrounding this incident are still being investigated and police have no suspect information at this time.
In an earlier Sunday night event, police responded to a call about gunshots from a guest staying at the Rodeway Inn in the 3500 block of Shadeland Ave just before 11:30 p.m. on Sunday. When officers arrived on scene, police say they found a man with two gunshot wounds.
The man was struggling to breathe and was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.
Aggravated assault and homicide detectives are on the scene to help with the investigation.
This is the same location as a homicide on Friday morning.
