NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (June 4, 2015) – Hamilton County police have one person in custody after a man barricaded himself inside a home in Noblesville.

Bryan S. Young, 31, of Noblesville was arrested after a standoff with police that lasted nearly five hours.

Deputies from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a vehicle crash into a utility pole near 160th Street at River Road around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3. A witness to the crash told police they saw a man flee the scene of the crash site and enter a home in the 15600 block of River Road.

Police say when they arrived at the house, Young threatened officers with a large knife. Young barricaded himself inside the home with four children.

Just before 3 a.m. Thursday, Young agreed to talk to police through a large window at the back of the house. Officers were able to get inside a door next to the window and took Young into custody.

Young was taken to the Hamilton County jail where he was initially charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Intimidation.
