Man found not guilty in February 2015 homicide

UPDATE (April 5, 2017)– Desmond Aaron was found not guilty of murder in connection with this case.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (June 4, 2015) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrested a man in connection to a woman’s murder in February.

Officers arrested Desmond Aaron, 29, on Wednesday June 3. He is accused of shooting Amanda Hartley, 26, multiple times and dumping her body in an alley.

Hartley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Aaron for Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Serious Violent Felon.

He was already in custody at the Marion County Jail being held on felony charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon, Criminal Recklessness, and Possession of Narcotic drug stemming from an unrelated incident.
