February double homicide case dismissed

Update (Dec. 19, 2016)– The case was dismissed due to evidentiary issues, according to the prosecutor in the case. The case is still under investigation and the state could still refile charges. Wright remains in custody on other pending charges.

INDIANAPOLIS (May 29, 2015) – Indianapolis Metropolitan police arrested two men in connection with a double homicide from February.

IMPD homicide detectives and the Violent Crimes Unit arrested Justin Kasten and Sean Wright, both 18 years old, in the case. On Feb. 17, officers were dispatched in response to a shooting in the 1000 block of Harlan Street. They found Daniel White, 22, and Devin Calloway, 19, dead from gunshot wounds.

Investigators obtained warrants for Kasten and Wright on two counts of murder and one count of attempted robbery. Police took Kasten into custody without incident. Wright was already in the Marion County Jail in an unrelated case.
