Indiana State Fair holding job fair Thursday to hire 500 workers
INDIANAPOLIS (May 28,2015)- The Indiana State Fair is looking to hire 500 temporary workers.
Interested applicants are encouraged to attend a job fair Thursday afternoon at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
People are needed to fill a variety of different roles including parking attendants, ticket-takers, and livestock barn management.
Many of these positions will need to be staffed through the duration of this year’s state fair, which this year runs from August 7-23.
Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann will be interviewing some of the potential candidates during the job fair.
The interviews are just one part of the application process.
“This will be an initial interview and then we will, based on your availability and what we have open, we will contact you back to let you know you got a job and get you in for training so that you can start, depending on the position, a couple weeks or a month ahead of the fair,” said Lesley Gordon, community outreach manager for the Indiana State Fair.
The job fair will be held in the Agriculture Horticulture building inside Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Doors to event will open at noon, but the actual job fair begins at 3 p.m. and runs through 6 p.m.
Organizers encourage interested individuals to show up early.
Last year, thousands of people showed up for the job fair.
The Indiana State Fair says anyone still in line at 6pm will get an interview.
