Several dozen firearms worth $30,000 taken from Johnson County home

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (May 25, 2015) – Several dozen firearms worth $30,000 were taken from a Johnson County home.

On Sunday night, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a Greenwood home in reference of a theft.

When police arrived at the residence, the complainant said two to three dozen firearms were stolen from his home within the last week.

Some of the guns were located in a cabinet, but the man said some people know where the key is. The man also says he keeps some of his guns in a safe, but he keeps the safe unlocked at all times.

There was no forced entry into the house, but the man said the exterior door to his garage is damaged and does not secure properly.

No other valuables were taken.
