Firefighter injured in west side fire

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 25, 2015) – Two firefighters suffered injuries in a large fire on the west side of Indianapolis Monday morning.

Wayne Township Fire Department responded to a working building fire in the 3600 block of Farnsworth Street around 11 a.m.

Heavy fire and smoke was showing from the abandoned building, and crews immediately went into defensive attack.

The Indianapolis Fire Department and Decatur Township Fire Department also responded to the fire. In total, 60 firefighters helped battle the flames.

One firefighter was treated for a minor injury and released at the scene.
