Postal worker killed in Shelby County crash

SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. (May 3, 2015 )– A United States Postal employee  delivering packages for Amazon was killed in a crash Sunday afternoon.

A spokesperson with the U.S. Postal Service confirms that the employee was killed in an accident involving a Postal delivery vehicle.

Mary Dando of the Postal Service said, “Our hearts and prayers go out to the employee’s family.”

Dando went on to say the accident is being investigated by the U.S. Postal Service and the Postal Inspection Service.

Shelby County officials say the accident happened around noon on Shelby County Road 900 North.

The victim’s name has not been released.  Shelby County authorities say the victim was a 30-year-old Spiceland resident.

According to the U. S. Postal Service, their employees make regular Sunday package deliveries for the Amazon Company.
