Indianapolis man sentenced to nearly 60 years for two shootings
UPDATE (April 26, 2017)– Akeem Gunn pleaded guilty to both shootings. He received 59 years in total in the Indiana Department of Correction.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 28, 2015)– Police arrested a man Tuesday who was wanted in connection with two separate shootings.
Akeem Gunn, 28, was arrested on the west side. He was wanted in connection with a shooting and robbery that occurred at a Walmart in Beech Grove on June 30, and a separate incident involving the shooting of his 29-year-old girlfriend on September 10.
Gunn’s warrant included charges of armed robbery, robbery with injury, aggravated battery, carjacking, and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
Gunn’s brother, Ken Gunn, 31, was arrested for assisting a criminal.
