Damage estimated at $70K after fire at vacant home on Indy’s near northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS (April 23, 2015) – Indianapolis Fire Department crews responded to a house fire on the near northwest side Thursday morning.

Flames from the vacant home shot into the air. Crews were dispatched just before 6 a.m. to the home at 909 W. 30th St. When they arrived, they found the fire fully involved and immediately went on the defensive.

IFD crews brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes. IFD said no one was hurt and estimated the damage at $70,000.
